Please Visit Official Chaos Scenario Site

This site was a temporary placeholder that allowed us to solicit public feedback on the cover of Bob Garfield's book, The Chaos Scenario before the official site was up. The official site, www.TheChaossSenario.net is now operational and that's where you need to be.
www.TheChaosScenario.net is meant to be a hub for news, analysis and opinion on the revolutionary changes digital technology has brought to our economy and our society. More than that, it is designed to be a community for all of us reckoning with the collapse of the old and the construction of the new.
At the sit
e, you'll also find information on 30 Days of Chaos, a free educational/informational program happening in October designed to prepare and equip you to thrive in the digital post-advertising age. You can learn more here and register here.I hope you'll join us for the discussion.

We Have a Winner!

It wasn't even close. We let you choose the cover to Bob Garfield's new book, The Chaos Scenario, from among three choices and you gave cover A an A! It won with 80% of the votes.
So, that settles it. We supplied cover A to our printer and it is the one that will adorn paperback editions of the book when they publish on August 3.
Thanks for contributing to the book by helping us choose the right cover. If you'd like to buy a copy, head on over to www.thechaosscenario.net where you can pre-buy the book at a deep discount. You can also read Bob's blog and join a community of "Chaotics" who are preparing to thrive in the post advertising age. GS

Choose The Chaos Scenario Cover

The Chaos Scenario, a new book by Bob Garfield, will release in a little over a month. In addition to chronicling the changes to the mass media/mass, marketing industry wrought by the digital revolution, it teaches critical skills required to thrive in the post-advertising age. One of those skills is called "Listenomics." Listenomics means involving your customers in many aspects of your business from advertising to new product development.
Accordingly, we want to practice Listenomics with regard to the book itself by letting you, its eventual reader, influence the final cover selection. Please take a moment to read the book's description from the back cover copy (below), review the three cover choices (themselves crowd-sourced through www.crowdspring.com), and then vote for your favorite using the survey in the top right margin. Once you've voted you can see the results. We also encourage you to leave a comment on this post explaining your choice.
Please encourage your friends to vote too since we'd like the largest sample possible.
Timing
We need the final cover image for the book's website, educational videos and other resources currently in development and so we will close the voting and make our choice at midnight on Friday June 19 and announce the results on this blog on Monday June 22.
Thanks for your contributions and please register at www.thechaosscenario.net to learn more about the book, receive invitations to participate in 30 Days of Chaos this October, and more.

Book description
What happens when the old world order collapses and the Brave New World is unprepared to replace it as an ad medium, as a news source, as a political soapbox, a channel for new episodes of “Lost?” Welcome to The Chaos Scenario.
It’s here, and Bob Garfield saw it coming. In his roles as Advertising Age editor-at-large and as co-host of NPR’s On the Media, Bob Garfield long ago connected dots that many in media and marketing refused even to acknowledge. In this fascinating, terrifying, instructive and often hilarious book, Garfield is not content to chronicle the ruinous disintegration of traditional media and marketing. Instead he travels to five continents for solutions. His journeys begin in a Denmark cow pasture and take him from Estonia to Australia, Israel to England, Montenegro to Brazil, Los Gatos, California, to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
What he discovers is the answer for all institutions who wish to survive – and thrive - in a digitally connected, Post-Media Age. He calls this the art and science of Listenomics. You should listen, too.
